Shawerma Salad
Ingredients
Shawerma Ingredients:
500 gm. boneless and skinless chicken breast
3 tbsp. olive oil
1 pack Knorr Shawarma Mix
½ cup tahini
¼ tsp. garlic, finely minced
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. warm water
1 tbsp. olive oil
½ tsp. ground cumin
½ tsp. salt
Salad Ingredients:
1 small onion
1 small tomato
2 small pickled cucumbers
¼ cup yogurt
1 tsp. parsley, finely chopped
½ tsp. sumac
DIRECTIONS
How to prepare Shawerma:
1. Wash the chicken breasts thoroughly with water and dry with kitchen
paper, then cut into thin slices as much as possible.
2. Place chicken strips in a plastic box with a tight lid, add olive oil
and 1 pack Knorr Shawarma Mix.
3. Blend well until the ingredients are mixed together, close the
plastic box and leave in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and pour chicken
mixture, and stir until all the slices absorb fluids and turn golden or until
completely cooked.
5. Chicken Shawerma can be grilled using home grill too.
How to prepare Tahini:
1. Pour the tahini in a deep bowl, and add lemon juice, olive oil, water
and chopped garlic, cumin, salt and pepper, and mix the ingredients together
well.
2. You can also add more water to the tahini mixture, and then pour it
in the serving plate.
How to prepare Salad:
1. Wash the tomatoes with water and dried with kitchen paper, then cut
into small cubes.
2. Cut pickled cucumber into small cubes.
3. Cut onion into 2 halves, and then cut into thin slices.
4. Add ½ amount of chopped parsley, yogurt, and mix well.
5. Pour the chicken shawerma slices in the center of the tahini dish,
and then distribute onions slices, diced tomatoes and cucumber slices over
them.
6. Distribute yogurt mixture around Shawerma layers, toss sumac and the
remaining minced parsley over the layers, and then serve salad with pita bread
